The Opening Seminar
The ASA Durban Aikido Dojo is opening its doors to the public on 1 March 2013.
As a forerunner to the opening, The Dojo is hosting an Opening Seminar (NO ENTRANCE FEE CHARGED) for all interested community members on 22-24 February 2013. At this Seminar (and all future KZN Regional Seminars to follow) , I will personally teach for the benefit of attending members, accompanied by the ASA senior students from the Western Cape and Gauteng. To view the ASA Seminars as scheduled for 2013 in KZN, the rest of South Africa and abroad, please click here.
For more information, see the attached pamphlet, which will also appear shortly in the Southlands Sun as part of ASA's communications campaign on the Durban Dojo.

The Durban Dojo
The ASA Durban Aikido Dojo has long been in the making, with so many community members over time asking me about the prospects of an Aikikai Aikido Dojo where the quality of Aikido teaching and classes is beyond reproach, and where members can join with confidence, knowingly that they are following the technical guidance as was laid down by our Technical Director, Shihan Yoji Fujimoto (8th Dan). This need is directly aligned with the philosophy and the quality of Aikido which ASA students have become accustomed to over many years.
It is unlikely that the Bluff Dojo will serve all the interested students who have contacted me over time, as the greater Durban metropole is just too vast. It is therefore anticipated that additional ASA Dojo's will in time be opened in other KZN and Durban geographical areas.
The Bluff Dojo's opening is therefore an important milestone for the future growth of Aikido in the KZN region and the greater South Africa. My thanks to Ryno Lategan, who plays a vital role in the establishment and managment of the Dojo. If you so wish, you can contact Ryno directly on the Bluff at 082 854 7927.
Alternatively prospective/interested students from any area in the Durban metropole or KZN can contact me directly, and we will start the journey together. Be assured of the highest quality of aikido training available in South Africa today.
Quality of Aikido
It is only fair that students are critical about the quality of teaching and lineage before joining an Aikido Dojo in South Africa. To this extent, students are welcome to read more about ASA and my aikido history as ASA Chief Instructor, and the associated quality and standards of Aikido which is prevalent and unique to ASA Dojo's. As Chief Instructor, I have been honoured and privileged to have studied for so many years with arguably the greatest Aikido Shihan that ever lived, Shihan Yoji Fujimoto (8th Dan).
Join us during the free Seminar, and you can decide for yourself before making any further commitment !!
I hope to meet you on the tatami soon!
Yours in Aikido.
